Why are PLB hours not paid out in the event of contract termination due to disability?
Questioner
After 2 years of illness, a settlement agreement is now being drawn up by an HRM employee (team leader). This gentleman told me that I would not be paid for my PLB hours because they would be deducted from my benefits!?!? Is this correct?Lawyer
If you sign the proposed settlement agreement in which this is included, you are bound by it. I advise you to have the proposed settlement agreement assessed by an employment law specialist in advance; that is, before you sign it. It is important that it is drawn up in the legally correct manner. Incidentally, it is important that the prohibition of termination during illness no longer applies if you sign a settlement agreement, as otherwise benefit rights may be jeopardized.Take the next step
