Holiday with burnout?

I have a question for my partner. My partner has stress/burnout complaints. Now we have a vacation planned in 2.5 weeks. The family doctor wanted us to ask permission from the employer to go on vacation. Now he has not given permission. Is he within his rights? Or are they still allowed to take me on vacation? He had previously agreed to go on holiday before my partner reported sick.

People who are ill (unable to work) are also entitled to a holiday. This is often done in consultation with the company doctor. The issue is whether the holiday will detract from the employee's recovery, in short, whether a holiday will hinder your recovery. This is usually not the case and the employer may not refuse the holiday. The advice is therefore to ask the company doctor whether a holiday is a good idea. The employer must follow that advice.
