Dismissal due to theft?

I am not proud of it but due to a very stupid action I took a receipt with 55 euros home with me. I actually did not want it but due to many psychological and mental problems I could not turn it around. I then spent 1.5 weeks in the hospital after a major operation. A few weeks later I went back to work but I am completely exhausted and expected my dismissal every day. In the meantime I had returned the money and the receipt to my team leader at work who picked it up at my home. It is now 6 weeks between the event and today and I expect to be dismissed anyway. I was wrong, there can be no discussion about that. But do I still have options and what can I do if I am still spoken to about this incident. I cannot continue like this for much longer.
