How are the collection costs calculated?

Questioner

I have to pay the collection agency a total amount of 975 euros. They have charged collection costs of 125 euros for this amount. Are they allowed to charge such high collection costs? They immediately started threatening that if I do not pay the amount of 975 euros in installments, they will take legal action. I heard that NAME COLLECTION AGENCY has already received a lot of complaints. They are also known to the consumer association.
