What are the costs of stopping education?
Questioner
We have stopped an HBO education at the NCoi in the meantime. The total cost for 4 phases is 19208. We stopped after phase 2, we skipped some modules from phase 2. (cancelled in March of the previous year. Now according to them ncoi has made us pay phase 1 and 2. (still running via direct debit) In total we had to pay 15,050 euros. Now I came across a ruling. If I divide the costs over the 4 phases I come to another calculation something like 10,000. In itself, the costs have been calculated correctly. However, there is a large amount of graduation costs (which we do not do). Course fees of 7,810 euros have been charged. In our opinion, that should be half for two years/two phases, which is 3800. There is now 4300 euros outstanding with collection. And I had no intention of paying any further given this situation. Am I on the right track?Lawyer
Your question is difficult to answer without knowing the precise terms of the (study) agreement you signed. What is included in it about a possible payment obligation in the event of premature termination will be important. In addition to the (study) agreement, there will probably also be (applicable) general terms and conditions.Questioner
I was referring to the Supreme Court ruling that you only have to reimburse costs incurred This means for you that: The agreement can always be terminated You do not have to pay any compensation The trainer is entitled to a reasonable salary and reimbursement of expensesTake the next step
