Right to inspect a complaint by a colleague?
Questioner
After an increasingly heated discussion, I was threatened with physical violence at work. I was told that the colleague hates me and wants to beat me up. I then told him that we would discuss this further with HR. There he confirmed both accusations. In the meantime, nothing seems to have been done with the complaint and it is dismissed with: everyone says something in the heat of the moment. Perhaps it is therefore useful to know that I am a woman and the colleague is a man. What right do I have to inspect his file to see the literal complaint? Of course, I do not need to see anything else from his file.Lawyer
If your colleague behaves like this towards you, it could even be an urgent reason for summary dismissal. It is strange and also inappropriate in my opinion that the employer does not take action against this. A written warning towards your colleague would be the least I think.Take the next step
