Transition payment allowed for permanent employment?
Questioner
My employer pays me a monthly amount for the transition payment, while I am still in permanent employment. Is that allowed/possible? As far as I know, a transition payment is intended when I am fired / employment ends. I asked around and no one knows this construction (making it a fixed part of the monthly salary). In addition, I have never been consulted about why this is and whether I agree with it.Lawyer
A transition payment is due upon dismissal. There are exceptional situations. Incidentally, an employee must always appeal to this via the court within 3 months, otherwise that right expires. If an employer chooses to pay a transition payment during the employment contract, this is not mandatory. It is also not prohibited of course.Take the next step
