Lost package? Legal advice on sender liability

Questioner

I ordered a package of 130 euros. The sender sent it and the carrier delivered the package to the neighbors. Now I want to pick up the package and the person who accepted it says that the package has disappeared. (is a house with room occupancy). I have not received anything, who is now responsible for my package. I wanted to report this but did not get any further.

I assume that the sender has chosen and contracted the carrier and that you have no longer agreed to the parcel being delivered to your neighbours. Then the sender (web shop) is liable for the parcel being delivered to you. So contact the sender. An example of a notice of default can be found in the standard documents.

Lawyer

You have an agreement with the sender of the package and not with the carrier. The sender must ensure that the package is delivered. They can do this by post or by delivering it themselves. That the package is delivered to the neighbors and cannot be found is at the risk of the sender. (the sender can probably hold the carrier liable, but that is another question) So you are still entitled to delivery of the package.
