Supplementary WIA benefit in case of divorce?

Questioner

I got divorced in January 2020 and live with my 2 daughters (19 and 18 years old) in a social housing unit in Oosterhout. I was diagnosed with AML 5 years ago and was therefore declared unfit for work. I receive a WIA benefit through the UWV, but I can no longer make ends meet with that. My daughters are both studying at HBO, which involves the necessary costs and unfortunately my ex-partner does not want to contribute to the costs of the education. I have been in a conflict with him about all kinds of things since our divorce and now he refuses to pay child support for the youngest daughter and he does not want to apply the indexation for the eldest. I have transferred the case to the LBIO; that is all still ongoing. I would like to know where I can go for a supplement to my WIA benefit, so that I can make ends meet more easily in these expensive times.

Lawyer

I advise you to contact the UWV if you have questions about the WIA benefit. However, I can help you with making a calculation and/or collecting overdue alimony. Contact me via 0800 822 4433 or send an e-mail to info@echtscheidingswinkel.nl if we can help you further.
