How can I divorce my Indonesian wife?

I am asking this question on behalf of a friend who returned to the Netherlands 3 years ago after living in Germany for 10 years and Indonesia (Bali) for 12 years. He married an Indonesian woman in Indonesia and tried to bring her to the Netherlands as well. She has been in the Netherlands for a few months on several occasions, but in order to be able to stay here permanently, she has to successfully complete an integration course. In the meantime, she has failed 3 times and the situation between the two spouses has changed considerably; she has difficulty/cannot settle here and the contact between the two has dwindled to zero, partly due to the great distance. That is the main reason for my friend to want to divorce her. I am asking you this question because my friend finds it very difficult to deal with this.
