Challenging an official warning in education

Questioner

I work in education and have received an official warning because I posted something on Facebook. Although this is stupid, I did not put anything work related in my post. No names either. Now I have an official warning while My managers do not have access to my Facebook and have not seen the post in question. Can I challenge this?

Lawyer

You indicate that you have received an official warning. You do not agree with this. You, or a lawyer, can respond to this with a registered letter. In this letter you can state your arguments and positions. By giving an official warning, the employer can build up a negative file on you and then the employer can more easily take steps to dismiss you in the future. That is why it is important that you indicate that you do not agree with the warning. In any case, you will then have a piece of evidence with your counterarguments. In these kinds of cases it is important that you write a well-motivated letter and I can help you with this. You do not want your employer to build up a negative file about you and then do something with it!
