Payment of invoice after fraud?

Questioner

I have been scammed. They ask if you object if they can ask a few questions. They ask if your company details are correct. 2 days later an invoice from them that I have to pay 785.50 within 14 days. It was stated that I had given my consent to place my company listing on their website by means of a recorded sound recording. Sound recording requested and completely different questions are asked. The sound recording has been manipulated. They use your answers in whatever way suits them best. Sent an email several times with a request for dissolution. This is not responded to! They only respond with the message that the sound recording has not been manipulated. Logical because they are not going to admit that either. In the meantime I have received a reminder and threatened with collection. Not a hair on my head that I am going to pay this. And the reminder states within 5 days after the date. There is not even a date on it. The police do nothing about it because there is too big a network behind it.

This sounds like a situation involving acquisition fraud (also known as advertising fraud or fake invoices). This occurs when you are lured into a contract without your consent, false invoices are sent, or commercial methods are used that are prohibited by law. In this case, if you are sure the audio recording has been manipulated and you want nothing to do with the service, I would advise not to pay. There are a few things you can do in addition: 1. Submit complaints to the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) via the ACM consumer desk. ACM can take action against companies that violate the rules. 2. Also submit the case to the Fraud Help Desk so that they can register the data and take action if necessary. 3. If you have already made payments and want to reclaim them, it is advisable to seek legal assistance. As this can be a complex matter, you may need professional help to reclaim your money.
