Legal Questions About Driving and Medication
Questioner
According to the CBR, my mother is not allowed to drive with the medication Mirtazapine 15 mg. and she will not get her driver's license back at the age of 75. They refer to the website 'drive safely with medication' on their site. It says: Up to and including 30 mg before going to sleep: do not drive for the first week. After a week: do not drive for 13 hours after taking it. More than 30 mg before going to sleep: do not drive. Driving with a dose of more than 30 mg before going to sleep is possible again after using the medication for at least 3 years, without interruption and in the same dosage, and a successfully completed driving test in a driving simulator according to the CBR protocol. The package insert also does not state that you are not allowed to drive. Yet they continue to insist that she should not be allowed to drive. Is this legally allowed?
