Fined for scooter suspension? Get free advice!

I did not extend the suspension of my scooter in time. Now I have received a fine of 330 euros for this. I was not warned about this once. I only received a letter stating that if I was too late with such an extension, a higher rate would apply for the suspension. In addition, the scooter was taken apart a year ago and the usable parts were sold. I informed the RDW about this by letter, to which their final response was that they could not suspend a vehicle retroactively. Otherwise '..our registration register is no longer pure.' I would like to know whether it makes sense to appeal to the public prosecutor.Lawyer
I don't quite understand your situation. You had temporarily suspended your scooter. You forgot to renew it, which resulted in a fine from the RDW. You then sold the scooter (or parts of it)?Lawyer
Dear questioner, You indicate that during the period that the scooter was suspended (1 year) it was taken apart and sold. The suspension appeared to expire after a year and you received a letter about that. It stated that the suspension would expire. And now you have a fine for not having insured a moped that no longer actually exists. Look, the RDW only checks whether the scooter you own is insured. When you sell the scooter, you will receive a so-called certificate of indemnity with which you can indicate to the RDW that the scooter is no longer yours. The same applies if you sell parts of the scooter and the scooter becomes unusable as a result. So when you sold the parts of the scooter, you should have deregistered your scooter with the RDW that this scooter was no longer a motor vehicle (in other words, a write-off). The fact that the RDW gives you a fine without warning you in advance is simply possible. If you can prove that (the registration number) of the moped is no longer usable and at what time, you can possibly object to the fine to have it waived or partially enforced.Take the next step
