Claim for Severance Pay and Salary

Questioner

Hello, On August 28, 2012, I was summarily dismissed without valid reason and received no salary from that date onward. I naturally contested this and, just before Christmas (December 24, 2012), signed a severance agreement and received severance pay. But in a paragraph before this it says: The employee retains the right to his salary until the end date..... In the meantime, I have NOT received any salary. Can I still claim this?

I assume the VSO includes an end date. Until that date, you are entitled to continued payment of your salary and benefits such as holiday allowance and other fixed allowances. Unless otherwise agreed, you are also entitled to payment for vacation days. If you need assistance recovering your salary, I'd be happy to assist you.

Questioner

Probably, but the agreement needs to be studied for that. You can email me the agreement by contacting me directly via the "direct contact" link you see in this answer if you are logged in. I am happy to help you with this.
