Hello! First of all, sorry for not writing in Dutch. I haven't learnt it so good, yet. The thing is,that I was involved in car accident a little bit more than half year ago. It was in July,in centre of Venlo. I stopped by red traffic light and one guy crashed into my car. In cosequence, I crashed the car standing in front of me. Crash causer left this place as soon as possible. Some lady from house living on this street, called to police. We had enough time to write down number of this car and tell something about driver. There was other persons, who saw this accident. They were walking by this street or living on it(as lady, who called police). Policemen come, we gave all information we had. They found a car but, unfortunately, without driver. Police took my car because it was broken from both sides. They said, they will put this car on auto field, and I don't have to pay about it. After some days, insurance company came to look at my car. They said that the car is totally damaged and they will pay me an amount of 1500euros for it. At the same moment, they said, that I have to sell my car, because it would not be fair,if I get both-money and car. So I signed papers for selling the car. i thought that everything was fine. After some time, maybe month or less, I received a letter, that our car is sold for 300euros. But I didn't receive any money. They said, that they paid for the field! (Police said the field is for free). Okay. I calmed down and left this thing, because maybe I understood something wrong from police man. But then the insurance company started to tell me that there are not enough evidence to prove, that someone really crashed my car. And so this thing is going more than half a year. They took my car and didn't pay the money. Few days ago I sent them again an email. They haven't answered until now. If there was police, they found the car, there were witnesses, how it comes that there are not enough evidence and we get nothing? What can I do about this situation? Is this normal thing, because it is really weird. Plus, later they even sent a letters with questions to all witnesses,to get more evidence. Please, help me. I don't know what to do about this situation! It is really bothering me all this time. Thanks a lot! I hope you can help me!Jurist
You can file a complaint with the Insurance company. If the complaint is rejected, you can file a complaint with KiFID, the Dutch Institute for Complaints on Financial Services. I'd advise you to ask a report from the police.Neem de volgende stap
